A bridge to fill in what's missing.
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a fixed replacement to the healthy teeth on either side. No adhesive, no removal — a bridge stays put and functions like your natural teeth.
When you lose a tooth, the neighboring teeth can shift into the gap over time, changing your bite. A bridge prevents that: crowns are placed on the two anchor teeth, and a false tooth (or teeth) is suspended between them — hence the name.
The process takes two visits, similar to a crown. Dr. Blackhurst prepares the anchor teeth, takes an impression, and fits a temporary bridge; the permanent bridge is fabricated to match, then cemented on a follow-up visit.
Bridges are a well-established, reliable way to replace missing teeth. If dental implants aren't right for you, or if you want a faster and less invasive option, a bridge may be the right call.
